Spirits in the Gardens returns to Reiman Gardens

Monday, October 08, 2012

Scare is in the air as Reiman Gardens’ Spirits in the Gardens event returns on Saturday and Sunday, October 20 and 21 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Craft and activity stations will showcase the animals and insects found haunting Reiman Gardens this Halloween season. Youth of all ages will also enjoy visiting the LEGO® brick sculptures as they trick or treat in the Gardens.

Guests of all ages are welcome to join in the fun and attend in costume. Spirits in the Gardens is a free event for all youth under age 18. Regular admission is $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors and free to all CoHorts members and Iowa State University students with ISU card. In the event of inclement weather, all activities will be moved indoors. Special thanks to First National Bank for sponsoring 2012 Spirits in the Gardens.

In addition to Spirits in the Gardens, the fall landscape has much to offer with striking ornamental grasses, vibrant mums and colorful leaf displays on hardy trees. Inside the Conservatory, find a display entitled The Wonderful Wacky Work of Rube Goldberg which will be on display until November 6. This will also be one of the final weekends to enjoy the Gardens’ popular Nature Connects: LEGO® brick sculpture show. See the sculptures before their last day on Sunday, October 28. Visitors can also visit the Gift Shop for some spooky Halloween themed merchandise.

Reiman Gardens is open daily, year-round from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information about Reiman Gardens, visit www.reimangardens.com or call 515.294.2710.
