Join us in Ames for the 2010 Iowa Shrine Bowl Football Game on July 24th

An annual favorite returns to Jack Trice Stadium in Ames this Saturday, July 24th.The 38th annual Iowa Shrine Bowl All-Star Football Classic game will begin at 7:00 p.m. and include talented high school football players and cheer squad members from around the state.

The South squad is the home team this year and will be on the west side of Jack Trice Stadium. The 2010 head coach for the South team is Bob McCoy from Bedford High School in Bedford, IA. The North Squad is the visiting team and will be on the east side of Jack Trice Stadium. The head coach is Roger Jansen from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in Sioux City, IA.

Come early and spend the entire day in Ames, enjoying a variety of Shrine Bowl events. Start your day with the annual Shrine Bowl Parade on Main Street in downtown Ames. The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. and will feature the 2010 football players, Shriners, antique cars and a variety of other parade entries. Stay down on Main Street after the parade to meet the players and get their autographs at Tom Evans Plaza. The first 100 kids will also receive a free autograph program.

Tickets for the 2010 Iowa Shrine Bowl Game are available in advance for $10 each or $15 at the gate on game night, children under 6 are free. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Jerry Hoffman with the Iowa Shrine Bowl at xautoman@mchsi.com.

Proceeds from the Iowa Shrine Bowl help support the Shriners Hospitals for Children programs. The Shriners hospitals provide medical care for children suffering from orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate. To date, more than $2 million dollars has been raised for the Shriners Hospitals, through the Iowa Shrine Bowl events.
