Thursday, March 04, 2010
Special Olympics Iowa (SOIA) is currently looking for volunteers for the 2010 State Summer Games which will be held at Iowa State University in Ames, IA from May 20-22, 2010. Volunteers are needed in a variety of areas and for a range of timeframes throughout this multi-day event. Groups or individual volunteers are welcome. Application forms can be filled out online at www.visitames.com or picked up at the Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau office, located at 1601 Golden Aspen Drive, Suite 110 or at the Ames/ISU Information Booth on University Boulevard. The application deadline is April 23, 2010. Please contact Seann DeMaris with the Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau with any Special Olympics Iowa volunteer questions at seannd@amescvb.com.

SOIA would like to encourage everyone to take this opportunity to volunteer during the 2010 State Summer Games. They would also like to thank all the volunteers who have helped with the State Summer Games and other Special Olympics programs in the past. The annual Summer Games would not be possible without the tremendous community support.
