The Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) works to build economic activity in the Ames area by promoting convention and visitors activities. The ACVB is a members-based organization supporting businesses and groups, and exists to support member business growth.

Our Mission

The mission of the Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau is to acquire meeting, convention and event business. The ACVB will seek to acquire groups that will have citywide impact and the potential to return to Ames on a regular basis and that will strengthen occupancy in historically soft business periods.

How does the ACVB accomplish these goals?

The ACVB actively develops business from a variety of sources including group tours, leisure travel and convention and meeting markets. This facilitates the arrival of tens of thousands of people and millions of dollars to the community.
